Each year we celebrate Nurse Practitioner (NP) Week to recognize the critical role that NPs play in our health care system as skilled clinicians, advocates, researchers, educators, policy makers, and leaders. Through your hard work and dedication, we have seen the NP role grow to meet needs across the health system and improve patient outcomes.
Thank you to all NPs across BC for all that you do.

Happy Nurse Practitioner Week 2022
Hi, my name is Lauren Irving and I live in Prince George on the traditional territory of the Lhedli T'enneh. I love being a nurse practitioner. I started my nursing career in 2008 with a BScN from UNBC. In 2013 I graduated from UBC as an NP. I love working with patients longitudinally. Working in primary care, I have enjoyed seeing my patients over the years and have gotten to know their families. I hope in the future, the NP profession will continue to grow and I hope Canadians across the country will know what a nurse practitioner is and what we do when they hear about us.
