How to Participate

To enter the 2023 NP Week Photo Prize Draw, you must:

1. Post a photo of yourself or your NP team to Instagram by Wednesday, November 15, 2023. You may submit more than one photo. One photo = one entry, so more photos mean more entries!
2. Tag and follow NNPBC at @nnp_bc
3. Include both hashtags #NPWeek2023 and #NPsOfferSolutions

Please note that NNPBC may reshare any/all photos posted for the purpose of this draw contest.

Prize

One x $100 Amazon gift card.

Who Can Participate

To join the NP Week Photo Prize Draw, you must:

• Be a current NNPBC member
• Be willing to share your full name and email address (only for the purpose of sending the prize; will not be shared publicly or in any other way outside the purpose of this prize draw) should your photo be drawn as the winner

Draw Details

One photo = one entry. The more photos, the more entries!

One winning photo entry will be randomly selected on Thursday, November 16, using a random selection generator tool. The winner will be contacted via NNPBC’s Instagram account (@nnp_bc) directly to confirm they meet all eligibility criteria. The winner will need to confirm their full name and email address.

This prize draw is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or affiliated with Amazon or Instagram. The draw will run from 12:01am PT on October 16 to 11:59pm PT on November 15, 2023. The draw will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023. All entries must take place during this time frame.

Dr. Sukhwant Jassar, DNP, MScN, NP(F)

This NP Week, we are excited to recognize and thank NNPBC's very own Board Chair and NP Council President, Dr. Sukhwant Jassar, DNP, MScN, NP(F), for her contributions to NP practice, leadership and advocacy.

Having served multiple roles on NNPBC's NP Council over the past 2.5 years and now as Board Chair, Dr. Jassar's commitment to promoting NP clinical, educational, research and leadership excellence, paired with her inclusive, patient-centered approach to care demonstrate Dr. Jassar's impact among the NP and broader health care community.

We look forward to our continued work together, and seeing Dr. Jassar's influence on present and future health landscape transformation.

Dr. Rachel Ollivier, PhD, NP(F), MSCP

NNPBC congratulates Dr. Rachel Ollivier, PhD, NP(F), MSCP on her recent naming as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners #WXNTop100 by the Women’s Executive Network.

Canopy Health

Canopy Health, located in Lynn Valley Village, North Vancouver, features a collaboration of NPs, midwives and allied health professionals providing families with access to fulsome and inclusive longitudinal health care services.

NNPBC was honoured to sit down with Erin Gray, NP(F) and Colleen Fulton, RM, in 2023 to discuss this collaboration and to learn more about this NP- and RM-led clinic.

Jane Narayan, BSc, BScN, MN-NP, NP(F)

As we continue to celebrate #NPWeek, we are honoured to recognize NNPBC Board Member and NP Council President-Elect, Jane Narayan, BSc, BScN, MN-NP, NP(F), for her contributions and commitment to exemplary clinical practice and education, and NP-led solutions to primary care challenges.

Since becoming an NP, Jane has practiced across various cardiac subspecialities including: Heart Failure, Cardio-Oncology, Cardiac Amyloidosis and Atrial Fibrillation.

In 2018, Jane also became a part of the planning and implementation process of the Axis Primary Care Clinic (PCC) located in Cloverdale. This work has since dramatically increased patient access to much-needed primary care opportunities.

We thank Jane for her amazing work and contributions to advancing NP practice and we look forward to continued work with her as part of the NP Council.

Dr. Eliza Henshaw, DNP, NP(F), MN, BSN

This #NPWeek we recognize and celebrate Dr. Eliza Henshaw, DNP, NP(F), MN, BSN, Executive Director of NNPBC's NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs (NP-PIP).

The NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs initiative is a collaboration between NNPBC and the Ministry of Health that includes NP leaders for each of the five health regions across the province to support NPs contracted in Primary Care Networks.

In Erin's ED role, she oversees the primary care transformational strategy of NP-PIP, alongside a team of amazing NPs, Operational and Leadership Directors, and administrative supports.

Eliza has been a part of the NNPBC team for nearly five years, first as a Nurse Practitioner Regional Lead for the Vancouver Coastal Region before moving into her current position as ED. In addition to Eliza's work with NNPBC, she is a practicing NP(F) at Canopy Health, an NP- and RM-led clinic located in North Vancouver.

As a strategic leader who supports the fulsome integration of NPs into BC's health system; advocate for NP practice and inclusive, longitudinal, patient-centred care; and exemplary primary care clinician, we celebrate and thank Eliza for her work and contributions to NP practice.

Erin Berukoff, NP(F), MN, BSN

In celebration of #NPWeek, we recognize NNPBC's own Erin Berukoff, NP(F), MN, BSN, Director of Provincial Initiatives and Programs Regional Leadership Program.

The NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs Regional Leadership Program is a collaboration between NNPBC and the Ministry of Health that includes NP leaders for each of the five health regions across the province to support NPs contracted in Primary Care Networks.

In Erin's Director role, she oversees the program's team of Regional Leads, ensuring that independently contracted NPs have fulsome access to practice support, regionally pertinent mentorship and coaching opportunities, and relevant tools and services.

Prior to Erin's directing role with the Regional Leadership Program, she too served as a Regional Leader for the Island Health region, providing contracted NPs in that region with coaching and mentorship support.

We recognize and thank Erin for her critical leadership, commitment to NP-led initiatives, and advocacy on behalf of NP- and nursing-focused solutions to transforming BC's health system.

NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs: Regional Leadership Team

This #NPWeek2024, NNPBC is excited to celebrate the amazing NPs of the NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs Regional Leadership team!

The NP Provincial Initiatives and Programs initiative is a collaboration between NNPBC and the Ministry of Health that includes NP leaders representing each of the five health regions across the province to support NPs contracted in Primary Care Networks.

Through this program, NP Regional Leads work together to support independently contracted NPs, advancing practice support program initiatives for NPs on primary care service contracts within Primary Care Network (PCN) models.

NP Regional Leads provide clinical and professional coaching and mentorship and act as liaisons with PCN partners to assist with NP role clarity in order to support successful integration of NPs into local PCNs. Regional Leads support their respective regions, ensuring the advancement of NP practice within their communities.
