The Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of British Columbia (NNPBC or "we", "us" or "our") is a professional association that is committed to protecting the privacy, security, and confidentiality of the information it collects about its members as well as other individuals, such as visitors to our website. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you visit our website (www.nnpbc.com) or register to become a member.
 

How we collect and use your personal information

While using our services you may provide or we may ask you to provide us with certain personal information, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address, home address, and phone number
  • First name and last name
  • Nursing designation
  • Information related to your current employer and years of practice.

We do not collect any payment information. This information is collected and processed via a third-party payment provider, Stripe. Stripe adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. When you register to become a member through the College of Nurses, we obtain this information about you from the College. We will only use this information to provide our services to or communicate with you with your consent. We also use your information to manage your membership and process your payments.
 

With your consent, we may contact you about our events or send you our newsletter to keep you informed about the profession. You may opt-out at any time by contacting us or clicking the "unsubscribe link" contained in those messages. We use Mailchimp to provide this service. We do use certain service providers in order to deliver our services to you. These providers are contractually bound to only use the information for those specific purposes.
 

When you become a member, you have the option to use the services of a telehealth provider. With your consent, we will share your contact information with the provider. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see below).
 

When you visit our website, we will collect certain data automatically. Some of this information may be personal information pertaining to your visit (see section below about Usage Data and Cookies).
 

Information Disclosure

We will never sell your information or membership lists to anyone.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
