Job summary

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our family practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and a passion for providing high-quality patient care. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. Experience in various settings such as family practices and OAT clinics preferred.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine individual healthcare needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans based on patient evaluations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
  • Educate patients and their families about health management, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems (JUNO).
  • Provide support in specialized areas including addictions, geriatric, and infant/pediatric care.
  • Support the medical director and other physicians with their patient panels, support to be outlined by the physicians.
  • Accept additional RN responsibilities as outlined by the medical director and administrative director
  • Send and submit encounter codes to the Ministry of Health as required by the nurse in practice program
  • Maintain good standing along with an active license with BCCNM (The British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives).
  • Accept training from other physicians in the practice to help support their panel
  • Work with front office staff to maintain a full scheduled each day
  • Duties will grow with experience and competency and will be within the bounds of the responsibilities of a Registered Nurse.

 

Qualifications & requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the province of BC - MUST BE VALID AT TIME OF APPLICATION.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in a family practice preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Experience in caring for OAT patients.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on empathy and respect for diverse populations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Acquiring certifications for practice as instructed by the medical director
  • Adhering to any RN tasks/requirements as outlined by the clinic or medical director
  • RN: 2 years (preferred)
  • Language: English (required), Punjabi (not required), Hindi (not required), Malayalam (not required)
  • License/Certification: BC RN License (required)

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months – Nurse in Practice

Ability to commute/relocate:
Abbotsford, BC V2T 2Y6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Shift: Days, Weekdays Monday – Friday, occasional weekend work when needed (will be scheduled well in advance).
