The Association of Registered Nurses of BC

As an ARNBC Workplace Representative, your main role is to be a communications link between ARNBC and the RNs and NPs at your worksite. This would include ensuring nurses at your worksite are aware of ARNBC initiatives and communications and will allow us to stay informed about nursing and other health care issues that maybe arising where you work.

You’ll need to be an active/practising RN or NP in good standing with the CRNBC to participate.

What do Workplace Representatives do?

  • They circulate the information that ARNBC sends out by email to their RN and/or NP colleagues.
  • They may also post this information on a bulletin board at work or leave it in the coffee room for staff to read during their breaks.
  • Representatives also relay any questions, concerns from their colleagues to ARNBC staff for further discussion.

How will ARNBC support Workplace Representatives?

  • Upon joining, each Workplace Representative will receive a ‘Toolkit’ from ARNBC. This Toolkit will provide a package of materials that you can share/post about ARNBC.
  • ARNBC will communicate regularly with the Workplace Representative as new information comes up. For example, news stories of interest, new position statements, opportunities etc.
  • ARNBC will host a quarterly conference call to which all Workplace Representatives are invited to share their experiences.
