Retired Nurse Information
Retirement is a huge transition in life, the same as birth, graduation, marriage, first job etc., and it should be given as much thought and preparation as every other transition in life. Most nurses retire well prepared for the financial aspects of retirement: pension, paperwork to complete and benefits to expect. What is not often addressed are the possible psychological and social impacts of retirement.
The information contained in these pages is adapted from content originally written by Retired RN Lalani Vanderheide and is meant to open the dialogue about programs and services that may be of benefit to retired and retiring nurses. NNPBC thanks Lalani for sharing her wisdom and for her desire to help nurses navigate retirement. We look forward to continuing to update these pages over time.
