We are delighted to inform BC nurses that Canada now has its own Academy of Nursing. As an initiative of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), the Canadian Academy of Nursing will be a comprehensive hub for a wide range of activities designed to educate, empower and support nurses to lead, advocate, innovate, and influence public policy.
All NNPBC/CNA members, of all nursing designations, who want to develop their leadership and management skills are eligible to become members. Learn about the opportunities and benefits of being Academy members.
To join the Academy, you first need to create your MyCNA Profile. The NNPBC and CNA technical teams are working diligently to work through finalizing some technical details that mean you can’t sign up online, but we have plan!
- To join, please contact NNPBC at firstname.lastname@example.org so we may verify your membership.
- NNPBC will then connect you with our CNA colleagues who will help create your MyCNA Profile.
Spread the word to your BC nursing friends and colleagues – all designations – who might be interested in being part of this exciting new venture.
In addition to the option of being an Academy Member, you might also consider who in our province might be eligible for consideration to be inducted as an Academy Fellow.
The Fellowship program is a way to honour the most accomplished nurses in Canada from all domains of practice. This is the highest honour for Canadian nurses, and those selected for induction into Fellowship will have the privilege of using the credential Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing (FACN).
Learn more about the eligibility criteria, and share with colleagues!
Fellowship nomination deadline is June 1st, 2020, although this may change.
