2023 Fees FAQs

  1. What does NNPBC cost?
NNPBC's annual fee is $45.99 annually (or $48.29 with GST) for practicing RNs, RPNs, NPs and LPNs. While this is up slightly from last year due to inflation, it still represents close to a 10% decrease of our original 2021 fee. To learn more about our fees please click here.
Please note, the NNPBC mid year fee is now in effect (October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024) and is $24.15 inclusive of GST for RNs, RPNs, NPs and LPNs only (ESNs, non-practising and Associates pay the same amount regardless of when you join.

  2. Why did NNPBC increase its fee this year?
NNPBC knows that nurses have felt the burden of fees and the increased cost of living. In 2022 NNPBC reduced its fee from our 2021 $54.60 (inclusive of GST) down to $41.99. While we would have loved to keep fees the same rates of inflation have made it more costly for us to provide services. Our fee remains under $50.00 and still lower than our 2021 fee by nearly 10%. We have also increased our programs, services, and course offerings to meet the growing needs of BC nurses.
Just some of the included with NNPBC membership are:
    • Access to mental health and wellness
    • Educational sessions and webinars
    • Leadership courses (valued at nearly $300.00, and free to members!)
    • Student and new grad courses

    • Ambassador Program
    • Perks
    • Jobs board

  3. How will I join in 2023?
At the time of your BCCNM renewal (starting February 1st, 2023), you will be provided an option when purchasing your mandatory professional liability protection from CNPS to choose either the bundled rate or individual rate. The bundled rate allows you to retain your NNPBC membership for 2023.
  4. What if I purchased NNPBC membership later in the year (October 2023 - January 31, 2024)?
NNPBC's next membership year begins on April 1, 2023. All RNs, NPs, RPNs, LPNs and ESNs will be able to purchase NNPBC through College registration during the renewal period which lasts February 1-March 31, 2023. If you choose to purchase NNPBC when you renew with the College, your NNPBC membership will be 'renewed' and you will have paid for a full-year NNPBC membership. If you choose not to purchase NNPBC during the renewal period, but have purchased our half-year fee prior to this, you will able to keep your half-year membership up to March 31, 2023. After this date, your half-year membership ends and 2023 full-year membership must be purchased to continue accessing NNPBC's programs and services.
  5. Why would I choose to purchase NNPBC now that you're more expensive than the individual rate?
There are many benefits to being an NNPBC member. NNPBC is your connection to your profession and the work we do focuses on advancing the profession of nursing. We work to ensure that the nursing perspective is included in matters of health and public policy.
