It was indeed a wonderful evening and is a great opportunity for CRNBC to publicly acknowledge nurses who have been nominated by their peers for outstanding achievement in patient care, research, teaching and administration. Nursing touches every aspect of health care in BC and through the College's public protection mandate we continue to support the professional growth of nurses by establishing standards, supporting nurses to meet standards and acting when standards are not met. The Awards of Excellence is a great way to celebrate outstanding nurses who exemplify the standards.

Congratulations one and all.

I was at a consultation a while ago and we talked about the Awards. Most of us felt really strongly that they should now move over to the Association to give out, rather than the College. is this a possibility? That would be an obvious role for ARNBC.

It's wonderful to see nurses honoured this way. Is there a link to a program or anything that describes the amazing work the nurses who received awards have done? I would love to read more about each.

I couldn't begin to do what I do without a big team of equally passionate, committed and superb nurses working alongside me. I am, as always, incredibly proud to be an RN in BC.

I thought I knew alot about my colleagues before I read the letters of support that I collected, but - wow - it's was amazing to read how they had also impacted upon other nurses' careers. We have so much to be proud of in BC nurses and I too am glad that the CRNBC has continued this award program.

Seeing many of my mentors and colleagues honoured and hearing about the exceptional work nurses are doing in this province was inspiring and made me even more proud to be a nurse among them.

Thanks, Joanne
