On April 7 we celebrate World Health Day 2024 with the theme 'My health, my right.' Health is a fundamental human right and this year’s theme speaks to the need to ensure safe and equitable access to health care for all populations around the world. This theme also recognizes the contributions and achievements of health professionals including nurses who continue to strive to increase access to high quality, culturally safe, patient- and family-centred care for all communities and to support patients in informed health decision-making.
Championing Global Public Health
Last year, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization and the World Health Day campaign. Founded in 1948 to promote global health and safety, the World Health Organization remains a pillar in the advancement of public health and health information around the world.
